Company History

October 1946 Late Kazuyuki Matsumoto started his business of manufacturing automotive precision screw parts under the name of Matsumoto Seira Kogyosho at Ondo-cho, Aki-gun, Hiroshima Prefecture.
January 1950 The company became one of the suppliers to Toyo Kogyo Co., Ltd.
(present Mazda Motors Corporation).
August 1959 A new cold-forging plant was built at Yayoi-shingai, Hiro-machi, Kure and at the same time the plant was assigned as a cold-forging test plant for Toyo Kogyo Co., Ltd. (present Mazda Motors Corporation).
February 1962 Matsumoto Heavy Industry Co., Ltd(capital 5 million yen)was established and it acceded the business above.
June 1965 Kure plant, an integrated plant from cold-forging to heat treatment processes was completed for manufacturing at Tagaya-cho, Kure, obtaining the land of 26,000m2 from the government.
August 1979 Head office moved to the new building, obtaining the land of 33,000m² at Ondo-cho, Aki-gun.
June 1980 A technical assistance agreement for the “TORX (hexlobe) drive system” was established between Camcar Co., USA.
We joined the Japan TORX Study Group.
October 1981 We joined the Japan Society for Technology of Plasticity as one of the supporting members.
November 1987 We developed the “CNC bender”, a pipe bending machine.
February 1988 Manufacturing of components for automotive air conditioner was started.
August 1989 3,300m2 is increased at the headquarter plant and it becomes a specialized factory for pipe parts only.
September 1989 Katou Mamoru was inaugurated as the new President and Representative Director.
April 1990 We joined the Japan Auto Parts Industries Association.
November 1997 We introduced I-DEAS and CAE has progressed in the company.
June 1998 Acquired the examination recognition for the United States fastener quality method.
October 1998 Acquired ISO 9002 Authorization.
May 1999 Acquired QS 9000 Authorization in the plastic range tightening bolt section.
May 2001 Acquired ISO/TS 16949 Authorization.
February 2002 Manufacturing of side airbag components for occupant crash protection was started.
May 2005 Pipings for EGR cooler were developed independently and their manufacturing was started.
June 2005 Shanghai Matsuju Automotive & Electronic Equipment Co., Ltd. was established.
March 2006 Operation at Shanghai Matsuju Automotive & Electronic Equipment Co., Ltd. was started.
