Acquisition of ISO Authorization

ISO stands for“International Organization for Standardization.”It consists of representative institutions for standardization in various countries, both industrialized and developing, from every corner of the world.

■QS-9000

QS-9000, properly known as“Quality System Requirements QS-9000”, is a quality management system standard set by the Big Three automobile manufacturers (GM, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler) and 5 Truck Manufactures. Based on ISO 9001, it includes requirements specific to parts and material suppliers in automobile industry of North America.

■ISO14001

ISO 14001 is an international standard of the“environmental management system” which evaluate a company's policy, plans, performance, contributions toward the environment. Acquisition of ISO 14001 is considered as a public recognition for company's environmental-preservation activity.

■ISO/TS16949

ISO/TS 16949 is also a quality management system standard based on ISO 9001. It includes additional requirements for design/development and manufacture of products related to automobiles and services concerning thereof. QS 9000 which has been established to meet the requirements from North American vehicle manufacturers such as the Big Three (GM, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler) and other related companies. On the other hand, ISO/TS 16949 has been designed to meet the requirements from automobile industry throughout the world.
